Gabitel has concluded its participation in the European Hydrogen Week (Hydrogen Week 2024), an event that gathered industry leaders and experts in Brussels over the past days. The company successfully established several strategic alliances and explored new opportunities to advance the development of green hydrogen in Europe.
Meeting with Fluxys
Our engagement with Fluxys, a key energy infrastructure operator in Europe, focused on their role in the energy transition. Fluxys is working on expanding hydrogen transport and storage capacity by repurposing existing pipelines and developing new infrastructures adapted to this resource. Furthermore, they are exploring integration with cross-border projects such as the hydrogen corridor linking Spain, France, and Belgium, which aims to promote sustainable energy exchange. This is an exciting and pivotal topic for the current moment.
Discussion with Gasunie
Gasunie, a leading energy transportation company in the Netherlands and northern Germany, emphasised its commitment to developing hydrogen hubs and underground storage systems. Their involvement in projects like HyNetherlands positions hydrogen as a central element in achieving the European Union’s decarbonisation targets.
Closing Meeting with Vice-Minister Ana María Vielba
Gabitel’s participation in Hydrogen Week 2024 concluded with a productive meeting with Ana María Vielba, Vice-Minister of Industry, Energy, and Mines of the Andalusian Regional Government. She highlighted Andalusia’s strategic advantages for green hydrogen development, including its abundant renewable resources and port infrastructure for exports. Vielba also showcased initiatives such as the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Alliance and the regional roadmap to foster industrial and heavy transport hydrogen use.
This closing session reinforces our commitment to hydrogen as a cornerstone of Europe’s energy transition and to strengthening international synergies in this strategic sector.
