In February 2020, GABITEL INGENIEROS, one of Spain’s pre-eminent Design Engineering firms, reinforced its international presence by signing a significant contract with the UK’s largest alternative provider of wholesale fibre network infrastructure and builder of Gigabit Cities. The contract to deliver FTTP network designs across the country is the first significant move in the UK for Gabitel, who are looking to sign further contracts in the coming months.
GABITEL has been working since 2013 for major FTTP (Fibre To The Premises) network providers in Spain, Europe and Latin American countries. With over 200 highly qualified technicians, Gabitel has been involved in connecting more than 9 million premises to the fibre network.
Signing an important contract in the UK is undoubtedly a milestone in the internationalisation process for GABITEL. As part of the UK’s mission to achieve Fullfibre by 2025, providers within the UK are upgrading the nation’s legacy infrastructure, enabling businesses to meet the challenges of today. Improved connectivity has never been more important in enabling efficient and flexible mobile working.
As part of the process of providing a complete service to network providers, Gabitel has entered into a partnership agreement with Aberla Utilities. The Aberla team help with surveying and assessing routes for network providers, assisting in the delivery of essential new digital infrastructure.
The partnership between Gabitel and Aberla also sees a full turnkey solution available for FTTP network providers, from Core Design right through to city wide installations.
