Fiberdays, held on 2–3 April in Frankfurt (Germany), established itself as a global focal point for discussions on digitalisation, infrastructure rollout, and fibre optic expansion. Our colleague Riccardo Weber attended the event to explore the latest trends and technological innovations shaping the industry.
The fair brought together experts, decision-makers, and companies from the telecommunications and digital sectors to present cutting-edge strategies and technologies aimed at the sustainable development of broadband. Key topics included open access and cooperation models, sustainability, rural infrastructure deployment, and the impact of artificial intelligence.
The conference programme featured discussions with policymakers and leaders from the fibre industry, addressing topics such as network expansion, industry outlooks on smart cities and regions, data centres, civil engineering, 5G networks, and partnerships with innovative start-ups.
The event covered over 16,000 square metres of exhibition space, hosting 200 international exhibitors. It also offered dedicated areas for networking and media, including sections focused on TV and streaming companies. The Gigabit Campus stood out as a key meeting point for public sector representatives seeking insights into the latest advancements in broadband infrastructure and mobile networks.
